Bringing the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to Life with Our Corporate Partners

Our more than 150+ corporate partners enhance Girl Scout programming at every level, bringing a nuanced expertise and perspective to each of our four core pillars of programming: STEM, Life Skills, Outdoors and Entrepreneurship. These contributions allow girls to see a full range of opportunities when it comes to their education and their pursuit of a career. Girls Scouts “see what they can be” and understand how to make the world a better place because of these stellar community relationships.

Many of Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s (GSEM) programs would not be possible without support from the community. Below are specific examples of Girl Scout programs that are enriched by generous corporate partnerships.

Patch Programs

Girl Scout Patches are unique opportunities for Corporate Partners to co-design and brand, together with GSEM staff, curricula around topics that are of importance to them and that align with GSEM’s educational pillars: STEM, Life Skills, Entrepreneurship, and Outdoor Adventure. 30,000+ Girl Scouts from all over eastern Missouri have the opportunity to complete the activities associated with each new Patch Program and proudly wear their newly-earned patch on their Girl Scout uniform.

Daisy Drop Box and Brownie Bundle

Since 2019, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri (GSEM) has mailed Daisy Drop Boxes every month to kindergarten and first grade Daisy troop leaders who then deliver the curriculum contained within using the supplies provided. Materials include everything needed to run one troop meeting every month. The activities within the box align with Girl Scouts’ national curriculum, including options for girls to explore the worlds of STEM, Life Skills, Entrepreneurship, and Outdoor Adventure.

Due the overwhelming success of this program, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri is launching the brand new Brownie Bundle in 2023-2024. The Bundle will be piloted to troop leaders of GSEM’s 2^nd grade Brownie troops and extended to 3^rd grade Brownie troops in 2025.

Community Troop Program (CTP)

Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri is currently home to 75-80 Community or Specialty Girl Scout troops that are led by Girl Scout staff and specifically serve lower-income, underserved neighborhoods throughout the region. Community support for this program underwrites progressive leadership training and mentoring support to 3,000+ girls in eastern Missouri today. By eliminating social and economic barriers that typically prevent girls from joining Girl Scouts, the Community Troop Program is a key tool in achieving GSEM’s overall goal of “Reaching More Girls” throughout the eastern Missouri region. Partnership opportunities related to the Community Troop Program support membership, programming, and uniform fees as well as regular field trips, camp excursions and other outdoor adventures for all members.

Girl Scouts Beyond Bars (GSBB)

Part of the Community Troop Program, the GSBB troop serves and supports young women in eastern Missouri whose mothers are incarcerated. Recognizing the importance of maintaining the mother-daughter bond, GSBB makes routine visits to women’s correctional facilities in Vandalia and Chillicothe so that Girl Scouts may participate in a troop meeting with their mothers. Corporate support of GSBB makes this monthly travel to the prisons possible while also providing year-round character-building Girl Scout programming to GSBB’s members.

In-School Outreach Programs

There are five key benefits to participating in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, one of which that end, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s (GSEM) comprehensive outreach programs focus on building and maintaining healthy relationships by communicating their feelings directly and resolving conflicts constructively. These programs are delivered in the classroom to boys and girls throughout eastern Missouri and include:

Project Anti-Violence Education (PAVE) serves elementary students (all genders) in grades K-12 and addresses critical issues that students face at each stage of their social and emotional development and helps them navigate them calmly and constructively. The PAVE curriculum specifically aligns with Social Emotional Learning Pedagogy, Positive Youth Development Framework, and MO Comprehensive School Counseling Program Content.
Transform Your Future: High schoolers known as Transformers will be trained to deliver the PAVE curriculum to their elementary counterparts. Transformers learn leadership skills and focus on the betterment of their community, careers, and their futures.
Be a Friend First (BFF): Targeting girls in 6^th-8^th grade, BFF focuses on outdoor education, building life skills, and emotional learning, helping them create a safe school environment where girls support girls.

Girl Scout Robotics

As part of its commitment to introducing STEM opportunities to girls from a young age, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri nurtures anywhere from 75-90 Robotics and SeaPerch Underwater Robotics teams annually. Support from corporate partners enables these teams to compete in local, regional, national and even World championships, all while teaching girls to solve problems they see in their own communities (and beyond) using the STEM concepts that they have learned. Such support likewise raises awareness of a critical field of study amongst female audiences whose potential to innovate remains widely untapped. Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri partners with the Missouri chapter of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), a global robotics community preparing young people for the future and the world's leading youth-serving nonprofit advancing STEM education.

April Showers

April Showers is Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s largest annual community service event as well as the ONLY large-scale personal care drive in the region, collecting 1 million+ personal care items each year. The impact of April Showers on urban, rural and suburban populations within eastern Missouri is critical and immediate and its success is driven by the generosity found within our community and the many partnerships Girl Scouts form on a local level to serve those in need. Corporate support for this event comes with recognition on all April Showers materials (which are distributed widely throughout the community and directly on doorsteps throughout eastern Missouri).

Dessert First

With the help of corporate sponsors, Dessert First raises significant funds annually to support Girl Scout programming across eastern Missouri. More than 500 people attend this flagship event every year where St. Louis chefs flex their baking skills and deliver one-of-a-kind Girl Scout Cookie-inspired creations!

Girl Scout Cookie Run

The Girl Scout Cookie Run is a family-friendly 5K run and 1-mile fun walk/run drawing 1,000+ participants annually. Corporate sponsors of this event may enjoy company recognition in multiple arenas including the Girl Scout Cookie Run Race Registration website, onsite signage, all race communications (email, social), official Girl Scout Cookie Run apparel, and much more.

Girl Scout Round Up

An annual event, Girl Scout Round Up is a great way to kick off the Girl Scout year in the fall. Girl Scouts who have renewed their membership for the upcoming year as well as newly-registered members are invited to Camp Cedarledge in Pevely or Camp Tuckaho in Troy for a day of outdoor exploration and discovery. With more than 800 Girl Scouts registered on average each year between both camp locations, Girl Scout Round Up is a partnership opportunity with multiple benefits including employee volunteer opportunities and day-of curriculum/activity design (developed in conjunction with GSEM staff).

Women’s Leadership Network

The Women’s Leadership Network brings adult women together in support of one another to positively influence future women in leadership. The Network exists as a framework to engage community members, former Girl Scouts, professional women and all others who believe in investing in girls with their time, talent and treasure. Corporate sponsors of the Women’s Leadership Network enjoy recognition at all WLN events throughout the year to an audience of vibrant and connected female leaders.
