Adult Recognition

Volunteering makes our world go round

At Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri, appreciation goes beyond a simple “Thank You”. Registered members and non-members devote time and energy on top of their own busy lives to give girls the opportunity to learn, have fun and grow in a positive, supportive environment. Below are some of the ways we can express our deep gratitude for their service.

To nominate member or non-member for an award from the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Council, please consult the Adult Recognition Handbook. There you will find award descriptions and criteria for nominations. Please follow the nominating instructions carefully.

Please note that the deadline has passed to submit nominations for this year.

  3. Have on hand the names of individuals submitting additional recommendations, as well as the following information about the candidate:

Review the Adult Recognition Handbook for award descriptions and any nomination details that may be required.

Collection and review of nominations is decided by each Neighborhood and District, so the process can vary by location. If you would like to nominate a candidate for a Neighborhood or District award, please contact your Neighborhood or District Manager, respectively, for further instruction.

  • District Managers will use the District Pin Approval Form to purchase award pins from the Girl Scout Shop.
  • Neighborhood Managers will use the Neighborhood Pin Approval Form to purchase award pins from the Girl Scout Shop.

Certificates for certain neighborhood-level recognitions are available without cost from the Girl Scout Shop.

Council-Level Special Service Award Nomination (Self-Nominated) toggle arrow

This award recognizes any Girl Scout member who has actively served as a registered adult volunteer in the following five-year increments: 15 years (minimum), 20 years, 25 years, etc.

Special Service Awards are the only council-level recognition in which a candidate may self-nominate.

Years registered as a girl member do not count toward service as an adult volunteer, nor do years as an adult member without actively participating in Girl Scouts, such as Lifetime Members or those who maintain annual membership without a volunteer role.

Please note that the deadline has passed to submit nominations.

Recognition Ceremonies toggle arrow

Council-level recognitions that have been approved by the Awards Selection Committee will be presented to recipients at our annual Recognition Ceremony. This ceremony recognizes awardees for their service performed during the previous membership year. Neighborhood- and district-level recognitions may be awarded at separate ceremonies or events hosted by local neighborhoods and districts.

Past Awardees Database toggle arrow

Many make a difference in the lives of girls, and recognizing the outstanding impact of those that give our their time, talent and treasure is a priority. Whether it is done by a formal or informal acknowledgement, we owe it to our our members and community to let them know how grateful we are for their service.

Prior to submitting a nomination, please use the search function below to ensure your candidate has not previously received that particular award.

How to search
