It’s the sweetest gift you can make
Through Project Thank You, Girl Scouts put smiles on the faces of military personnel and veterans, people in need, and those who help keep our community safe. Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri established this Treats & Reads and Cookie service project as a way to treat others in our community with kindness, caring and appreciation.
For every $6 donation received, Project Thank You provides a gift of one box of Girl Scout Cookies or nut/candy item to be distributed by our nonprofit community partners, USO of Missouri and Operation Food Search.
Calling all Girl Scout troops
We make it easy for Girl Scout troops to participate. Here’s how it works:
- Girl Scouts selling nut/candy or cookies ask customers to purchase boxes for donation.
- Girl Scouts collect payments and record them in the appropriate donation column on their order card; or customers choose donation option if purchasing online.
- Troop volunteers record donations in M2 or eBudde under the “PTY” or Project Thank You column.
- To promote Project Thank You at cookie booths, troops may print the custom flyer and donation receipt.
- The Girl Scout Council is responsible for purchasing all the Project Thank You donated product and delivering it to the USO of Missouri and Operation Food Search; troops do not pick up or take physical possession of Project Thank You items.
- Donated nut/candy and Girl Scout Cookies are distributed by the USO of Missouri and Operation Food Search.
Note: Only Project Thank You packages are eligible for Project Thank You rewards. Troops that select a charitable organization other than Project Thank You organizations must order and track these donations separately as Gift of Caring.
