APRIL 23, 2024, ST. LOUIS—Girl Scout members, staff and supporters gathered to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new Edward Jones Adventure Center on Sunday, April 21, made possible through the generosity of Edward Jones in their support of the Her Future is Our Future Comprehensive Campaign.
The Edward Jones Adventure Center, located at Camp Tuckaho in Troy, Missouri, was a two-part project, involving the creation of a new High Ropes Challenge Course, as well as an Adventure Center with free play structures, so Girl Scouts of all ages can enjoy a self-propelled and unique play experience.
The first phase of the project was completed in 2021, with the installation of the new High Ropes Challenge Course, which gives Girl Scouts in middle school and high school an opportunity to have fun and share thrilling outdoor experiences with girls from across the area. For more than 40 years, the high ropes challenge course has been an iconic team building and leadership Girl Scout program for girls ages 12 through 18. The second phase of the project was the development and construction of the Edward Jones Adventure Center, a self-directed free play experience where girls of all ages can use their imaginations in the outdoors—while building confidence and immersing themselves in physical play like climbing, jumping, and swinging.
“Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri is incredibly grateful for the support of Edward Jones,” said Dr. Natissia Small, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri CEO. “Edward Jones truly embodies a community mindset, and their commitment is evident through their long-standing support of local organizations, like Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri.”
