School of Rock
SchoolOfRock_Logo

School of Rock is a performance based music school inspiring the world to rock through immersive band rehearsals, private lessons and ultimately live concerts at real rock venues in Saint Louis. In this virtual 45 minute course over zoom, as part of our Girl Scout music program, we will teach girls how to recognize through ear training the different instruments and their role in a rock band.  Using a colorful slide deck and engaging instruction of a professional working musician you can choose workshop topics like "Song Mapping", "Vocal Warm Ups", "Songwriting: Borrowing From Your Influences" or "Intro to Guitar".  For any workshops which require instruments, the student must have access to their own. We instruct guitar, bass, drums, keys and vocals at our school, and this music course gives students insight into how some of these instruments work. Students who join ongoing programming at School of Rock have the option to join remote bands that record real music videos; or small socially distanced in-person groups which culminate in real or live stream performances at venues in Saint Louis.

Twists N Turns - Immersive Mystery Experiences
twistnturns_logo

If your girl loves mystery themed novels and detective shows, then she will love our programs! These virtual mystery experiences will give her the chance to test her critical thinking skills in hypothetical situations based in fantasy and reality. Girls will learn how to excel in puzzles and riddles that involve colors, wordplay, shapes, and math. Throughout the activity, girls will be encouraged to share and debate hypotheses with their peers to ultimately work together to solve the mystery before the workshop ends. The programs are hosted through Zoom and run for 50 minutes. Each program has a minimum of 3 girls and a maximum of 30.

Mystery Themes:

The Perilous Castle
A well-loved castle owner has mysteriously died. You have been tasked with exploring her castle and finding out who the murderer is. The castle is full of mysteries. Only if you can solve all of the puzzles together in time will you discover the culprit and escape. If not you may just end up as their next victim. Sign up here

A Trip to Mars - An Immersive Murder Mystery Experience in Space
Rumor has it that there has been some foul play on the planet Mars! After a secret mission went awry, an astronaut has gone missing. The final transmission was concerning and we were hired to investigate. Can we solve the mystery and find a way home? Sign up here
