School of Rock
-
School of Rock is a performance based music school inspiring the world to rock through immersive band rehearsals, private lessons and ultimately live concerts at real rock venues in Saint Louis. In this virtual 45 minute course over zoom, as part of our Girl Scout music program, we will teach girls how to recognize through ear training the different instruments and their role in a rock band. Using a colorful slide deck and engaging instruction of a professional working musician you can choose workshop topics like "Song Mapping", "Vocal Warm Ups", "Songwriting: Borrowing From Your Influences" or "Intro to Guitar". For any workshops which require instruments, the student must have access to their own. We instruct guitar, bass, drums, keys and vocals at our school, and this music course gives students insight into how some of these instruments work. Students who join ongoing programming at School of Rock have the option to join remote bands that record real music videos; or small socially distanced in-person groups which culminate in real or live stream performances at venues in Saint Louis.
