Adult & Pediatric First Aid, CPR/AED Blended Learning January 31
A qualified General First Aider with an Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification must accompany the troop when they participate in certain activities. Check Safety Activity Checkpoints to see if a First Aider is required for your troop activity.
We recommend at least one adult volunteer per troop complete Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR/AED training. Adult volunteers acting as first aiders at Girl Scout activities must be certified to meet Girl Scout Safety Standards. Adult volunteers may take this course through the American Red Cross (ARC) or other council approved agency such as the AMerican Heart Association (AHA) or AMerican Safety & Health Institute (ASHI).
Some courses offered by ARC, AHA or ASHI have separate courses for First Aid, CPR, and AED. All are required to be a GIrl Scout First Aider. The following items will be available for purchase at all GSEM American Red Cross courses:
1. Adult or Pediatric First Aid, CPR/AED Ready Reference Skill Cards at $4 each, and 2. CPR keychain with face shield and gloves at $4.75 each.
This course is for those who wish to renew their certification as a General First Aider and their American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR/AED certification has not expired or is within 30 days past expiration. Demonstration of skills is required. This certification is valid for two years. Girls 16 years of age and older are welcome to participate. Financial Assistance is available. Participants must bring proof of current (or within 30 days past expiration) American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR/AED certification to class. If your American Red Cross First Aid, CPR/AED certification is over 30 days expired, you are not eligible to renew your certification by taking the Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR/AED Review. You must complete the blended-learning.
