World Wide Technology Supports Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s Her Future is Our Future Comprehensive Campaign

St. Louis, MO – April 19, 2022 – World Wide Technology is supporting the next generation of female leaders with a generous gift to Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri and their Her Future is Our Future Comprehensive Campaign. This campaign is the largest-ever investment in girl development in the eastern Missouri region and the largest philanthropic effort in Girl Scouts’ history.

World Wide Technology’s involvement is centered around the corporation’s passion to develop a diverse pipeline of young visionaries who are capable of leading in the future, especially in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The lack of skilled workers in high-demand STEM fields impacts economic expansion for families and communities alike, and Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri is uniquely positioned to help bridge this STEM interest and skills gap for girls in the region.

As part of their support, World Wide Technology is focusing on K – 12th grade girls’ participation with a variety of programs, including Live from Girl Scouts, an in-person and virtual program that presents a Girl Scout badgework activity paired with local mentors who speak to the importance of the skill-building exercise. This program enables girls to “see what they can be” by connecting them with leading industry experts from our community. Since October 2020, Girl Scouts has produced three seasons of Live from Girl Scouts, with more than 15,000 registrations. Girls have earned badges on topics like Product Design, Cybersecurity Safeguards and Automotive Design.

“World Wide Technology strongly believes in making a positive impact on youth groups around the world,” said Ann Marr, Executive Vice President, Global Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility Executive Sponsor. “Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri shares our company’s commitment to empowering future female technologists by connecting girls with hands-on exposure to important concepts. These young leaders will one day accelerate growth in our local communities, benefitting us all for generations to come.”

“Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri is grateful for World Wide Technology’s support of the Her Future is Our Future Comprehensive Campaign,” said Bonnie Barczykowski, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri CEO. “Just like our young Girl Scouts, World Wide Technology is a company of thinkers and doers who continually seek ways to improve our communities. Their support will ensure Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri can continue to bring unrivaled innovation, creativity, and growth to our programming so girls across our region can develop the skills needed to advance their unique potential as leaders.
