Girl Scouts Offers Virtual Camp and Program Activities to Eastern Missouri Girls

Camp-Tastic 2020

St. Louis, MO – June 10, 2020 – For more than a century, eastern Missouri Girl Scouts have been getting outside, seeking inspiration and exploration in their suburban backyards, neighborhood parks and area campgrounds. This summer, when children and adults are faced with limited safe, accessible and affordable programs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri launched an camping initiative designed to keep girls entertained and engaged in outdoor activities.

Camp-Tastic 2020
With the launch of the organization’s new microsite, GSEMtogether, members and nonmembers have access to one-of-a-kind programming, including the Girl Scout Council’s recently rolled-out Camp-Tastic 2020. Now, the region’s young adventurers can register for week-long sessions with themes like “Mad Camp Science” and “Camp History Mystery.”

For Camp-Tastic participants, each will receive a camper kit in the mail days before their session. Kits come complete with the necessary materials for the program’s activities, so there’s no need to make a masked trip to the store for supplies. Each day of the session, girls will have the opportunity to connect virtually with their fellow Girl Scout sisters with morning cabin chats followed by hours of pre-recorded activities and crafts. To register for her next adventure, visit Not a Girl Scout? Not a problem! Joining Girl Scouts is easy and you can just go to camp. Recognizing these are challenging times, financial aid is available for all virtual programs including Camp-Tastic 2020. The cost of membership should not stand in the way of any girl or adult participating in Girl Scouts.
