Scholarship Awards

At this special event, we celebrate the leadership and service of outstanding Girl Scouts and award two scholarships of $5,000 to be used for higher education.  Scholarship recipients must be working on, or have earned, their Gold Award, the highest recognition available to Girl Scouts.

Gold Award Girl Scouts Molly Frei and Lillian Orskog were each recognized in 2019 for demonstrating extraordinary leadership through a remarkable community service project. Molly paved the way for future leaders in STEM by assembling “tinker boxes” for elementary-aged girls featuring mechanical engineering activities and Lilly worked to minimize the staggering food insecurity occurring in Kirksville, Mo., by constructing 25 vegetable and 25 herb garden boxes, providing long-term access to fresh and nutritious foods for individuals in need.

Thank you, Molly and Lilly, for taking matters into your hands and making a positive and permanent difference in our community and beyond!

Awardees are selected through an application and essay process. All girls working towards earning their Gold Award are encouraged to apply for the 2020 Scholarship. Applications are due Thursday, October 10, 2019.
