Hundreds of eastern Missouri G.I.R.L.s (Go-getters, Innovators, Risk-takers, Leaders) TM families and friends are collectively coming together to celebrate Girl Scouts by participating in the Council’s much-anticipated annual post-Thanksgiving race.
This year marks a historic moment for Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri as its the organization’s centennial anniversary. Since 1918, the Council has been helping girls build the skills they need to lead in their homes, workplaces and communities. As 2018 comes to an end, Girl Scouts Go: Run for the Cookies is one of the last chances the Council’s membership and community supporters will have to honor this milestone.
Participants can register for either the 5K or 1-mile walk/run and each finisher will receive a commemorative 2018 Girl Scout “Cookie” medal, a custom event patch and a beanie. As giving back to the community is a huge part of Girl Scouting, event participants are asked to bring at least one new toy benefitting Toys for Tots. Those who do donate will be granted access to a VIP warming area with light breakfast, coffee and juice.
Saturday, Nov. 24 from 8 am-noon. To register, please visit fleetfeetstlouis.com/girlscouts. Race day registration will be available too.
