Twenty-three eastern Missouri G.I.R.L.s (Go-getters, Innovators, Risk-takers, Leaders)™ are turning up the heat as they train alongside female firefighters, paramedics and policewomen during a Girl Scout Resident Camp program.
Camp Fury STL is Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s first responder immersion camp created in partnership with several local fire and law enforcement departments. Now in its second year, this action-packed, six-day, five-night camp is still the only one of its kind in the Midwest. During this experience, high-school aged Girl Scouts participate in essential first responder trainings, including search and rescue, an aerial climb, rappelling, canine tracking, and extinguishing live fire. In addition to the trainings, the girls will hear from several esteemed guest speakers from agencies across the region including, Maryland Heights Police Department, the Secret Service and Pattonville Fire District.
