Girl Scouts sell sweet treats for fall

On October 8, Girl Scouts throughout eastern Missouri will begin going door-to-door with Fall Product order cards to sell sweet and savory treats perfect for the holidays. At that time, girls will also set up their online store, sent via email invitation, to sell exclusive treats like Mocha Caps and educational activity boxes as well as magazine and national newspaper subscriptions. Available both online and on order cards are perennial favorites Dulce De Leche Owls, Dark Chocolate Caramel Caps with Sea Salt and Fruit Slices. New this year is a one-pound container of Honey Roasted Mixed Nuts with Peanuts.

The program helps girls earn money for troop activities, including field trips and service projects, as well as learn essential life skills that will help them succeed. Troops use these earnings earlier in the school year for new experiences and adventures.

Customers can also choose to donate Fall Product items to U.S. military members through Project Thank You. Every $5 donation provides one can of nuts or candy through the USO of Missouri. Last year, more than 5,500 cans of nuts and candy were donated by Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri and its generous customers.
