Training
  Position Description
 

A. Title: Council Trainer

B. Purpose of the job: To plan, prepare for, deliver and evaluate training for adult members by agreement with the district training team and/or adult education director.

C. Accountability: Appointed by and accountable to the district training manager or adult education director

D. Staff: Adult education directors

E. Terms of appointment: Two years, renewable at the discretion of the district training manager in consultation with adult education director.

F. Responsibilities:

  1. Responds to requests to present training modules from the district training manager, district training registrar or an adult education director.
  2. Plans, prepares for, delivers and evaluates training modules assigned, according to content definition and resources provided by the adult education directors.
  3. Distributes training completion letters.
  4. Sends report, evaluation and statistics to the district training registrar or adult education director, as appropriate, upon completion of training presentation.
  5. Participates in training, communication and updates as recommended by the adult education directors.

G. Requirements of the job:

  1. Meets membership requirements.
  2. Abides by national and local Girl Scout policies, standards and procedures.
  3. Keeps informed of local and national Girl Scout program trends.
  4. Successfully completes core training and a student teaching assignment or applies for and is granted a core training waiver.
  5. Agrees to achieve the learning objectives of assigned courses.
  6. Qualifies for reappointment through:
    - Satisfactory performance of teaching assignments.
    - Participation in a council trainer conference, district council trainer roundtable, or job enrichment course at least once during each two-year term of appointment.

H. Knowledge and skills required:

  1. Training skills.
  2. Human relations skills.
  3. Oral communications skills.
  4. Knowledge of current national and local Girl Scout policies, standards, procedures and program.
  5. Experience and/or expertise in content area to be taught.
