Sylvia Acevedo, CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA, will join us at Shades of Green! As part of the day’s program, Sylvia will help us kick off Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s 100th anniversary, which will be celebrated throughout 2018.

Girl Scouts of all ages are invited to join us for Shades of Green: Tradition Meets Innovation at America’s Center on Oct. 28, 2017 from 10 am–6 pm. This long-awaited event will be one of the largest gatherings and celebrations for Girl Scouts in eastern Missouri!

Cheer, dance and sing along with amazing performers on the event’s giant main stage, play games, participate in hands-on activities, enjoy an older girl area for girls in grades 6-12 and experience an amazing showcase of program partners and supporters.

Shades of Green: Tradition Meets Innovation is a family event. Family members may join their Girl Scout member for an amazing day.

Girl Scouts camps will not be open during Shades of Green weekend due to hunting season but we encourage you and your group/troop to make it a weekend of fun! We are working closely with hotel and travel providers to secure competitive lodging near Americas Center for group/troops. To take advantage of the special room rates for Shades of Green, be sure to check the Shades of Green app.


Optional bus transportation is available for Girl Scouts in our rural areas: D10, D11, D12, D15, D16, D17 and D18. Select a bus transportation option and pay when registering. A minimum of 43 people per bus will be required to guarantee each bus stop.


Join the Shades of Green Volunteer Team!

Be part of Shades of Green 2017 and help us celebrate the importance of Girl Scouting by volunteering for this special event.

As an adult volunteer, you may:

  • Manage lines and participants in a program area
  • Distribute workshop materials to participants
  • Assist with program area set up and clean up
  • Provide directions to activity areas, restrooms etc

All volunteers will receive a confirmation and training.
