Go nuts for Girl Scouts Fall Product Program goodies


St. Louis, MO – Oct. 11 – We might be months away from restocking our freezers with Thin Mints® but Girl Scout Fall Product Program season is here to tide us over. Girl Scouts in eastern Missouri started offering sweet or salty treats plus magazine subscriptions to customers Saturday, Oct. 7. The Fall Product Program booths will be open at many locations beginning Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Every year, starting in October and ending in December, Girl Scout troops participate in the Fall Product Program which is an additional money management program. During the Fall Product Program, troops sell a variety of nuts, candies and magazine subscriptions helping them fund new adventures to start their Girl Scout year. Their participation in the Fall Product program provides girls the opportunity to develop skills in goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics.

This year’s Fall Product Program season includes a new initiative to involve local culinary influencers like: Kate Gilliam (kateheartscake), Clementine’s Creamery (clementinescreamery) and Strange Donuts (strangedonuts). Throughout the month of October, these influencers will post an original recipe to Instagram using at least one of the delicious Fall Product Program items.

By taking part in the Fall Product Program, Girl Scouts from eastern Missouri also power important community service programs like Project Thank You. Every $5 donation from customers provides one can of nuts or candy to U.S. military members which is distributed through the USO of Missouri. This year, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri and the USO of Missouri are celebrating the fifth anniversary of this important partnership.

“Community service is a hallmark of Girl Scouts—our girls are actively giving back to their schools, neighborhoods and across the region,” said Erin Eberhard, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s Director of Product Programs. “Girl Scouts is about building G.I.R.L.s (go-getters, innovators, risk-takers, leaders)TM who understand the importance of leading with empathy. By giving back to the USO of Missouri, our girls are seeing they make a real difference in their community, which inspires them to take on the world in a big way.”

Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 15, hungry customers can visit Fall Product Program booths at Walgreens locations, JoAnn Fabric & Crafts stores, the Magic House, Alpine Shop, St. Louis Premium Outlet Mall and Shop ‘N Save locations to satisfy those sweet and salty cravings! Fall Product Program goodies available this year include Dark Chocolate Caramel Caps with Sea Salt, Salt & Pepper Cashew Halves, Peanut Butter Bears, Deluxe Pecan Clusters, Dill Pickle Peanuts plus much more.
