The Department of Defense and GSUSA have asked members not to send care packages to deployed military personnel that indicate delivery “To any service member,” as the package will not be accepted or delivered.

Sending Girl Scout cookies to military members, while well-intended, overwhelms the mail system, causes unnecessary transportation delays and poses a security concern to deployed personnel.

While the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri appreciates its membership’s support and concern of military personnel, troops are requested to focus their efforts locally on supporting service family members, veterans and other community organizations.
