Girl Scout Gold Award Workshop mouse - (S, A/grades 9-12)

Workshop is only for girls, as they are required to take a workshop before they can submit a project proposal. You don’t have to take it before you begin any requirements. You can work on the first couple of steps, then come to a workshop before you come up with a project plan. You must pre-register using the Individual Program Application.

Plan accordingly to attend one of these workshops, especially if you want to begin a project over the summer, when workshops are not offered.

Reflections 2010 Award Ceremony for Girl Scouts
Sunday, June 6 at 4pm @ Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center on the campus of the University of Missouri - St. Louis.

Reflections, GSEM’s annual awards ceremony, honors Girl Scouts who’ve earned the highest awards in Girl Scouting between March 2, 2009 and March 1, 2010. This includes:

  • Girl Scout Silver Award recipients
  • Girl Scout Gold Award recipients
  • Girls who are currently celebrating their 10th or 13th year in Girl Scouting
  • Girls who graduated from high school in December or who will be graduating from high school in 2010

Who’s invited?
Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors and their Leaders automatically receive an invitation. In order to be honored at Reflections for your Girl Scout Silver Award, 10- or 13-year G.S. status, or graduating status, a Leader or parent must fill out the Individual Program Application to let GSEM know what award(s) you should receive. This information needs to be in by March 1. An invitation will then be sent. You may bring friends and family to the event. RSVPs are required.

How are girls honored?
Girl Scout Silver Award recipients receive a Girl Scout Silver Award certificate. The pin should be purchased by your Leader/adult advisor.

10- and 13-year award recipients receive a certificate. The 10-year pin is not presented at this ceremony.

Girl Scout graduates receive a memento from the Alumni Coordinating Board, plus several certificates.

Girl Scout Gold Award recipients receive the Girl Scout Gold Award pin, Missouri Senate Resolution and numerous certificates from Girl Scouts and civic/government organizations. Only girls who submit a Girl Scout Gold Award Final Report form by March 1 (project must already have been approved no later than Jan. 15) will receive this recognition in 2010.

Will I not get my award if I can’t make the event?
If you cannot attend, you will still be honored in the event program, as long as GSEM knows you are supposed to receive recognition. You may pick up your recognitions in the weeks following the event. If you cannot attend, consider organizing a ceremony at the troop or Neighborhood level. G.S. Gold Award recipients who cannot attend can request information about planning their own special event.
