Youth Leadership St. Louis - (S, A/currently in grades 10-11)
Application deadline: March 1

Are you a leader in your troop, or do you know you have the potential to become a leader? Would you like to develop your leadership skills even more? Each spring, GSEM selects a handful of girls to be on the Girl Scout team for Youth Leadership St. Louis (YLSL).

FOCUS St. Louis runs YLSL, working with GSEM and dozens of area high schools. The program builds leadership skills, strengthens character and promotes teamwork. Participants gain exposure to St. Louis’ political, economic, criminal justice, diversity and social service systems. YLSL participants must commit to attending the overnight retreat in September and all workshops, which take place one weekday and one Saturday monthly October-April (except December). Workshops are held at sites like KETC-TV and St. Louis City Hall. Applicants must be a high school junior or senior during the 2010-11 school year and be in good academic standing.
