Leah Younkin, Westminster Christian Academy
Leah’s broad exploration of music includes playing piano at the Chinese Music Festival and for 80 guests at the Scott Joplin House, playing violin in her school orchestra, and helping a Mexican musician improve his English and knowledge of American music.
  Entrepreneurship
Emily J. Murphy, Cor Jesu Academy
Emily is the founder of Emily’s Good Scents, an aromatic soap company which specializes in creating soaps for all occasions and holidays. While paying attention to quality, service, and value, Emily purchases, makes, and sells or donates her products all on her own.
  Government & Legal
Tara Mason, Knox County High School
Tara participated in the United States House of Representatives Page Program in Washington D.C. Tara has been involved with the Youth Voter Participation Program, served as an election judge, and will soon be job shadowing the assistant prosecuting attorney for her district.
  Inspiration
Hanna Richardson, St. Joseph School
From personal experience, Hanna serves as a local and national advocate for those suffering from Intracranial Hypertension – a chronic neurological disorder that causes persistent painful headaches among other symptoms.
  Numbers
Miriam Efken, Lindbergh High School
Miriam is a collaborator and team-builder among her peers. She is currently enrolled in Multivariable Differentiable Calculus through a program at Stanford University and is completing the requirements for the International Baccalaureate diploma program.
  Practical Arts
Chloe Renee Thomas, Macon High School
Although Chloe suffers from a hearing loss and heart problem, she does not let that stop her from sharing joy and kindness as a greeter at C&R Supermarket. As one of Chloe’s nominators notes, “there is nothing in the world more practical than good customer service skills.”
  Social Sciences
Emma Howard, Home-School
Emma helped establish the first honor-system lending library in the Winfield/Monroe area. She courageously talked to the mayor and a local organization to get approval and then located a place that would even be safe during flooding, collected books for lending, and worked out the procedures for borrowing.
  Sports & Fitness
Randyll (Randi) Beltz, St. Clair High School
Randi is the captain of her high school’s wrestling team and perhaps the first female wrestling captain in Missouri. She is a two-time All American wrestler and is the only girl in Missouri to ever place at a high school wrestling state tournament.
  Technology
Meghan Chrum, Bishop DuBourg High School
As a member of St. John the Baptist Elementary School’s Cyber-Squad, Meghan was chosen by her teachers to participate in an area wide program to help schools develop good Internet safety agreements. With Meghan’s help, her school launched a Rap and Poster Contest to promote Internet safety.
  The Sciences
Kamrey McNutt, Metro Academic & Classical High School
Kamrey helps individuals maintain health through medicine. She is currently a pharmacy technician and has helped patients and siblings feel at home through her volunteer work at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. In order to prepare for a career in pharmacy, Kamrey was one of only 25 selected to participate in the Career Explorers Program sponsored by Walgreens and the St. Louis College of Pharmacy.
