Types of Girl Scout Membership

Troops -- the traditional Girl Scout group meetings and activities

Postal Express Girl Scouts (PEGS) -- An option for girls ages 5-17 as an alternative to joining a traditional Girl Scout troop. The program offers the opportunity to earn badges and patches, work on Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards and participate in Council, District and Neighborhood events. Three times a year, girls receive a PEGS newsletter with information about what’s going on in the Girl Scout world. Girls also receive an invitation to participate in online chats, and for events to be planned for PEGS members to get together and share with each other.

Character Trails Program -- An in-school collaboration for children during the school day.

Urban Girl Scout Program -- For girls who live in the city where areas troops may not be available.
