Go Nuts for Knowledge, Together We Can ... Make the World a Better Place!

This year's Fall Product Activity will encourage girls to make the world a better place. For Troop program material, links for badges and Try-Its; log on to http://www.nutsforknowledge.com and download the activity sheets, selling and safety tips and program and goal setting tips.

Build your Troop's Treasury! Participating in the 2009 Fall Product Activity is a great way to build your troop's treasury. The high quality products offered by Trophy Nut Co. (a GSUSA licensed product vendor) are easy to sell and troop proceeds are 15% of the sale price! Prices range from $5.00 to $10.00 per item. Troops do not need to order by the case.

Magazine vouchers will be offered for the first time for our 2009 Fall Product Activity. The vouchers offer a great non-food option for customers wanting to support Girl Scouts. Vouchers sell for $10 and $20 and make great gifts.

Trophy Nut Co. Gift Packs
Girls will also have the opportunity to sell product in Gift Packs. Gift Packs include Trophy Nut Co. Chocolate Toffee Almonds (14 oz.) in a Jane Wooster Tin and Whole Cashews (12 oz.) in a Botanical Tin, perfect for gift giving!
Gift Packs are $30.00 for the combo or $17.50 individually (price includes shipping and handling) and troops receive 10% for each Gift Pack sold.

2009 Fall Product Activity Incentives

For 2009, each girl selling will receive:

  • One item - a participation patch
  • 15 items – a Super Seller Heart Patch and Friendship Bracelet
  • 25 items - a small stuffed hippo
  • 35 items - a theme T-shirt
  • 50 or more - a large hippo
Girls participating in a Fall Product Booth with their troop will earn a booth patch. 

New for 2009!
Girls selling 5+ magazine vouchers will earn a Reading Time Patch. 

Incentives will be distributed to troops in mid January.
 
Care to Share
Care to Share is an optional Community Service Project program developed for Girl Scouts.  If a troop decides to participate they select a charitable organization, examples include food pantry, a church or shelter.  While order taking, girls ask customers if they would like to purchase an additional product as a gift to the designated charitable organization.  The Care to Share patch will be available for purchase in the GS Shops for $1.00.

How Can My Troop Participate?
Troops must be registered for the 2009 - 2010 membership year. Fall Product Activity materials will be available at the Fall Product Activity training conducted in your Girl Scout Neighborhood in September.

Key Dates:
  • November 7, 2009 - "Go Day"  
  • November 15, 2009 - Girls turn in orders
  • November 16, 2009 - Troops place orders
  • December 2-3, 2009 - Orders will be delivered to Neighborhood Fall Product Manager  
  • December 15, 2009 - Troop deposit receipts & reports due to Neighborhood Fall Product Manager  
  • Through December 23, 2009 - Fall Product Activity Evaluations available online
  • Mid January, 2010 - Incentives will be distributed to the Troop Fall Product Manager
