Cookie Program ‘GO’ Day – January 11

They’re baaaaack! Little Brownie Bakers returns as the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Cookie baker for 2014 and 2015. Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri has partnered with Little Brownie for almost 20 years.

More than just selling cookies to friends and neighbors, the Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led enterprise in the country. Girl Scouts learn about goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics. We hear from many successful women leaders that their first entrepreneurial experience was selling Girl Scout Cookies.

Beloved and highly anticipated by customers each year, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s Cookie Program will begin Saturday, January 11, 2014, “GO Day.”

Little Brownie has baked delicious Girl Scout Cookies for more than 30 years. Besides Thin Mints, seven other Girl Scout Cookie favorites will be available:

  • Samoas
  • Tagalongs
  • Do-si-dos
  • Trefoils
  • Savannah Smiles
  • Thank U Berry Munch
  • Dulce de Leche

Did you know Little Brownie also makes the caramel for Samoas and uses the same peanut butter found in Hershey’s® products for its Do-si-dos and Tagalongs? Little Brownie also pioneered these Girl Scout Cookie technology innovations – Girl Scout Cookie Locator, Cookie Booth Sale Recorder and Cupboard Keeper mobile apps. Research shows that customers order more cookies online, an average of six packages versus an average of three packages in person, when Girl Scouts use Cookie Club. Cookie Club is a Little Brownie online marketing tool girls use to collect Girl Scout Cookie “promises” from customers via email. This tool enhances the girls’ use of Internet and technological tools.

Troops are encouraged to take action in their communities and participate in Troop to Troop, which gives customers the opportunity to buy Girl Scout Cookies for donation to the USO of Missouri, Inc. Troops may still choose to make donations to other organizations. In 2013, more than 36,000 Girl Scout Cookie packages went to the USO, thanks to the generosity of Girl Scout customers.

Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri troop proceeds are increasing to 63 cents per cookie package sold. Troops with a per girl average of 126+ will receive 68 cents per package sold, and those troops with a per girl average of 176+ will receive 73 cents per package sold. Cadette, Senior and Ambassador troops can choose to opt out of the cumulative rewards and receive 5 cents more per package sold. Girl Scout Cookies sell for $4 per package. All of the troop proceeds from the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Cookie Program stay within our community to benefit area girls.
