The Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Equestrian Center is located at Camp Cedarledge in Pevely, Mo., approximately 45 minutes southwest of the City of St Louis. Built in 1996, the Equestrian Center consists of stables for up to 35 horses, three grazing pastures and a covered riding arena. The Equestrian Center sits atop a beautiful hill, providing fantastic views of the surrounding area and pleasant breezes on warm summer days.
Programming at the Equestrian Center includes fall and spring troop programs as well as eight weeks of horse programs during summer resident camp. Programming information can be found in Lead & Learn. For more information about Equestrian Programs, contact Brooke Petryka at 314.592.2353 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Troops may also utilize camping sites or day use areas in conjunction with their horseback riding program. For information, contact Kathy Kahn at 314.592.2368 or email@example.com
All equestrian programs follow Girl Scouts of the USA safety activity standards outlined in Safety Activity Checkpoints.
In 1994, the State of Missouri passed a statute requiring that participants be advised, “Under Missouri Law, an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or death of a participant in equine activities resulting in the inherent risk of equine activities pursuant to Revised Statutes of Missouri.”
