Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri (GSEM). GSEM always needs people just like you who want to share their time and talent to help girls of all ages develop courage, confidence and character. Whether you have an hour, a day, or more time to share, your participation will make a difference in the life of a girl.
As a volunteer, we ask you to:
- Accept the Girl Scout Promise and Law
- Abide by Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) and GSEM policies, standards and procedures
- Be a positive role model
- Register as an adult member of GSEM
The safety and welfare of the membership is the primary concern of GSEM. Our volunteer placement process is designed with that in mind. Registering as an adult member of GSUSA does not equate with serving as a regular volunteer in GSEM. Adults wishing to volunteer regularly with a troop or group are asked to complete an application, including a criminal background screening, prior to placement in volunteer positions. Regular volunteers are those persons 18 years and older who spend time with girls in areas of higher risk including, but not limited to attending meetings regularly, driving girls, supervising or chaperoning, accompanying the troop on overnight outings or trips and working with or managing troop funds.
Becoming a GSEM volunteer is an easy two-step process:
